8th sept we check into the Wynn on a special offer ($119 p/night) and are there for 4 nights. What i need is suggestions for the 2nd 4 nights. We do this every year-this is trip 5. 2 hotels for 4 days each and try not to repeat them-theory being to try as many as possible. The exception this year is the Wynn obviously, we were there last year on a special offer but this 1 was too good to not use.
At the moment im leaning towards the Gold coast-only negative is its small pool. My wife likes the sun worshipping thing so a decent pool whilst not hugely important would be nice.
I wanted to try the Sahara but being up that end for the first 4 days means id rather move down the strip, or even downtown.
Weve stayed in harrahs, Excalabur, Trop, Orleans, Tuscanny so open to any suggestions outside of them--anyone??

want to help me pick?
Dates and maximum budget would be useful.
As you mention Gold Coast, Sahara and Downtown I%26#39;m guessing you%26#39;re looking at the lower end of the market. If this is the case I%26#39;d definitely reconsider your schedule and stay wherever you decide first and then switch to Wynn. Any of the properties you%26#39;re thinking about isn%26#39;t going to be much fun to go to after four days at the Wynn.

MGM, PH, or Flamingo for your wife%26#39;s need of pool time.
I only picked those because of their location, pool area, and price point. :-%26gt;
Rooms are all fine. (some nicer that others)
Step up some and try the Mirage, Bellagio, Venetian or Caesars.
I would forget the Gold Coast and the Sahara.
Others to look at Paris, Ballys, MGM.
right, so you understand, i love this. planning another trip to vegas gives me huge ammounts of pleasure :-)
Right, Blagger. dates cant be changed and the $119 only applys on weekdays. Its not a problem, we checked out of there last september and got a taxi to the tuscanny suites. was like black and white but we loved both places. the Wynn isnt somewhere we would normaly stay, read my trip reports and youll see what the wife and i are all about. Budget- theres no set budget, i just look for good value for money without blowing a fortune on a bed. remember our second set of 4 days goes over a weekend.
Shrinkgirl- MGM and Flamingo are both in with a shout. So would PH but unless theres some sort of special offer going on then the price is getting high.
Diceman- hasnt the Mirage still got construction going on? Ven/CP --im not against either of these places but neither is what id regard as cheap, again itll be a weekend. As regards Paris, well its probably my least favorite casino in vegas, dont ask me to explain, i cant, just not keen on the place.
In my original post i forgot we did the Monte carlo a couple years back too-before anyone suggests it.
Actually not sure about anyone else but i find a lot of the standard rooms in a lot of these hotels to be much the same. Having stayed in a few in the hotels ive mentioned the only 1 that really stands out is the Wynn. just my opinion of course :-)
thanks for the suggestions so far-feel free to keep them coming. :-)

I would try MGM MB Paris TI better than Sahara which is to tired. And i agree with Blagger stay at a lesser hotel first and then move to the Wynn for your finale.
oh aye, not Ballys either, going to a convention in 2010 and its looking like Ballys will be the convention hotel so ill just wait till then and get the convention rate :-)

Oldiesguy-- MGM is in with a good chance. MB does nothing for me to be honest.
as i said in my last post the Wynn is on a special offer-i certanly dont want to be paying their weekend rates, id stay in a tent before that :-) We arent rich or snobby in any way, id quite happily go try the rivierra or el cortez. considered both of those btw, not the Riv as its still that end of the strip an EC doesnt have a pool.

And if you want to read something really really silly-remembering im 43, so far if you read the posts in this thread and my comments it would throw up the MGM. ok great till you consider i hate the colour green and oh by god that place is green. If they changed the lighting for a weekend then id be game :-)
If im honest and all pointers point at the MGM i wouldnt let my bias and childishness stop me booking there, i think :-)

What about MGM Signature? three towers behind the MGM, non-smoking, non gaming, but a short walk to the MGM. Jr. Suite has a special right now 149.00 night, (week days only though, I think) Or you can check it out at VRBO.com, lots of good deals, and each tower has its own pool, and you can also use MGM Pool. Lots of great reviews on the property, check it out! Beware, though, you can not use comps on your players card for this property.
We recently returned from a 4 night stay at the Paris Hotel and were very pleased with the hotel, pool and location. The pool is a nice size but I have to admit it can%26#39;t compare to Bellagio or Caesar%26#39;s.
