Questions on MGM Grand and Marriage Bureau

Hi everyone,

I am having my wedding on Jun 21st. I am going to stay @ MGM Grand. Do anyone know:

1) How much will be the cab cost to go from MGM Grand to Marriage Bureau? Also, how long will that take if I am planning to leave the hotel ~ 11am-12pm on Sat?

2) How long do you stay at the pool area @ MGM Grand?

3) Anything you think is must do, or aware if you are going to stay at MGM?

Questions on MGM Grand and Marriage Bureau

1) A cab to the Marriage Bureau will be about $20 each way. The actual traveling time to get to Downtown and back will be (depending on traffic) around 20-25 minutes each way. I%26#39;ve no idea how long you%26#39;re likely to need once you%26#39;re at the Bureau.

2) Personal choice. No two answers would be the same. Depends on how hot it is, what mood you%26#39;re in, how bad your hangover is.......

3) Play Sigma Derby - the last remaining machine on the Strip.

Questions on MGM Grand and Marriage Bureau

Hi we stopped at the MGM in april and also got married. We paid about $20 for a taxi to the marriage bureau but we went at 8pm on Friday night and it was really quiet and we were all done in 5 minutes.I would think that Saturday morning would be very busy.

As for the MGM try not to be fobbed off with a west wing room, although they are very claen and modern they are very very small.Because of this when we return in November we%26#39;ll be stopping elsewhere in case they push the west wing onto us again.Other than that the MGM is great and i hope you have a great time and a wonderful wedding.

Looks like question 1) has been answered by others. As for question 2), we usually spend a few hours at the pool. But clearly that is going to vary widely by individual. MGM now has a pay-per-view (so to speak) pool area called Wet Republic. You can read about it on their website. I think the idea is an outdoor ultra lounge type place. Personally, we enjoy the lazy river. I suggest you stake out a spot near the backlot bar. Good drinks.

When I got married last year, we arrived on a thursday, got married saturday. We went to the marriage bureau on friday around 10 or 11am and only had to wait for a few couples in front of us.

Horror Story per our limo driver -- this couple was getting married on 7/7/07, took too long getting down there, waited until the day of the wedding to get the license, and due to the high demand of that wedding day, ended up missing their own wedding because they were waiting in line.

Since you don%26#39;t know what the line situation may be like, I suggest going a day early to be safe

Hire a limo service.......it%26#39;ll be easier......they have hourly rates......even if u dont want to spend the $$ on a limo get a town car they run a little less.

I agree with the towncar idea, if a cab would run you $20 each way you could probably get a towncar for the hour for about $10 more and not have to endure the crazy cabbies.

Remember that the pools close at 4:45 pm daily. A fact that I was not aware of until last Sunday afternoon.

I thought the pools close at 8pm from May to Sept, that what it says on the website.
