Is Ellis Island within walking distance from Balleys, if so is it safe?

It is within walking distance. All I can tell you is that I walked to it in August-female/alone in the evening- and I had no problems.

We just got back from Vegas last night, after seeing where Ellis Island was at, there was no way we would walk there, especially at night. Just my opinon.

No problem whatsoever! It is right behind Bally%26#39;s. We were at Bally%26#39;s having a margarita at the Tequila Bar during their Happy Hour. We recalled the high reviews for Ellis Island and walked their when it was dark and cold. The walk wasn%26#39;t bad, and there was not one issue with safety...none at all. I suggest that you go for it, and go for it early on, so you can decide if you want to go back!

It%26#39;s an easy walk from the side doors at Bally%26#39;s (Barbary Coast side). I%26#39;ve done it twice during the day. Not sure I would do it at night unless i was with a group.

We walked to Ellis Island in Jan. Walked there in the afternoon, but returned to the Strip in the evening. Had no problem. It wasn%26#39;t late at night and there were other people around. It is probably about 2 city blocks in back of Ballys. Ellis Island isn%26#39;t upper end or even middle of the road, but the deals are great!!

about how long did it take you from ballys/barbary coast? and is it a straight shot?

It took us 15 minutes at the most from the side door at Ballys. We were 3 gals and walked it in the daytime. None of us felt in danger at anytime. You walk past the Westin, on the Ballys side. Cross at Koval and turn right, it is past the 7-11. I agree I would not do this late a night unless I was with a group of people.

i am not an EI fan.

it is dark, dirty and unpleasant. yes, you get a 5.00 meal. why walk/ride/drive to a place, wait, have suspect cleanliness - all to save afew bucks.

time is valuable to me.

some people love the place, those of us who don;t are in the minority. know it is just ';fuel'; not a gourmet meal, which you can get anywhere. terrible%26#39;s has much better foof for same or less prices in a bright place, nicer dining room (the buffet is bad-go to the cafe)

Thanks for all of the tips on Ellis Island, my hubby %26amp; I missed alot on our first trip %26amp; we want to see everything we missed the first time around %26amp; good or bad Ellis Island is on our list we will let you all know come June 3rd- 7th

All the times I have been to Vegas I have never been to Ellis. Beside the food, how is the gambling?
