Has anyone stayed here recently, Im staying here 22-25th. first time in Vegas!!.....any suggestions at all for my stay would be greatly appreciated, e.g places to eat, gamble, drink service, players cards?
Treasure Island
I steyed at TI April 6-8 for my neices wedding.
The room renevations are getting close to being done. I think floors 3 thru 23 are done.
The mall next to TI called Fashion Show mall has a big variety of casual places to eat if you do not want to eat at TI.
The slots can be tight at TI. Harrahs, Imperial Palace, Flamingo, and Bills are within 3/4 of a mile to TI and are less upscale which sometimes means looser slots.
Wynn, Palazzo, Mirage, and Ceasars Palace are near TI also and are more up-scale than TI.
TI is a nice hotel for a first-timer. It is a solid 4 star hotel.
Treasure Island
Players card--MGM properties
Drink service-- fair
Places to eat: buffet is ok but their desserts are great.
There%26#39;s a food court at the Fashion Show Mall.
If you have the ACG coupons, there%26#39;s a Bella Panini and a San Gennaro across the street at the Venitian.
TI was the first Vegas hotel I stayed at and I still think it%26#39;s a great hotel with a pretty good location. They seem to price themselves higher than similar properties, IMO, so I don%26#39;t stay there much. Drink service is decent, tables are OK (I actually saw a $5 table on Sat night this weekend) but seem to be shrinking in number, and when I got my a** kicked at the tables, I sat at a cheap slot to slow the losses and everyone in our row was making a ton of money. The guy next to me put a dollar in (penny slot, 9 lines) and walked away an hour or so later up over $100. It took me close to 4 hours to burn through my $20 which I figured would be gone in fifteen minutes. I eventually did burn through it, but racked up quite a nice amount of points for that kind of money. If I would have known that, I would have skipped throwing away $20 a minute at craps and planted myself in front of a penny slot and spent my weekend staring.
The rooms at TI are very nicely furnished with nice bathrooms and the beds are the best I have ever slept on in a hotel. The buffet was good as was Canter%26#39;s Deli and the coffee shop. Fashion Show Mall is next door and there is a mini tram that takes you to Mirage so we gambled there alot because the slots in the casino were tight when we stayed there but there are alot of other places to gamble in Vegas. We thought the drink service was fine and as mentioned in another reply, the players card is MGM Mirage. Be sure to get a players card at a Harrahs property also as they are generous with comps.
Have a great trip!
As the above posters mentioned it a nice place to stay i stayed there a while ago you will enjoy it have a great time in Vegas.
stayed 2 years ago.
lovely redone room, in soothing creams. likely great view of Palazzo now...all construction then
decent location; as far north as I%26#39;d stay
crappy casino, except poker room; small, but same staff 18 mos. later %26amp; they are good; best poker comps in town
GREAT MX restaurant Isla; great well-priced food, nice ambiance, GREAT mojitos
Kahunaville is fun, too
nice place if the price is right
I stayed at TI 2 years ago and liked the service and location but didn%26#39;t like the room at all. I thought I wouldn%26#39;t return but now that they have renovated the rooms I have decided to go back in August. The new modern look of the rooms is so much better. I have only eaten at Kahunaville and Isla but enjoyed both. Kahunaville is great for a casual fun meal and the drinks are great. Isla is an upscale Mexican food restaurant. We really enjoyed our meal there and it was under $50- which is rare for a Las Vegas restaurant. I%26#39;d warn you to not bother with the Sirens show but most newbies feel compelled to watch it (I%26#39;m guilty myself) so at least you can laugh at how bad it is....the tram to Mirage is convenient but it always seems to break down whenever we need it most. TI%26#39;s pool isn%26#39;t that big but I love that it has a huge hottub. The casino is small and easy to navigate, which is a plus. For cheap food you can head over to the Fashionshow Mall and for an amazing upscale meal head over to Wynn. Have a great trip, the first one is always awesome!
We stayed for 7 nights (almost 4 years ago). We had a standard room on a 20-something floor with a view of the strip. The room was very nice and very CLEAN. We really liked the location of the hotel and loved riding the tram that connected TI to the Mirage. We also liked the layout of the casino and won $100 on the dollar slots fairly regularly. The hotel and casino staff were very friendly and helpful.
The ONLY thing we didn%26#39;t like was the buffet. We would not hesitate to stay there again.
I need to clarify my earlier post....it wasn%26#39;t that we loved ';riding'; the tram between TI and the Mirage (that sounds weird). What I meant to say is we loved the convenience of having the tram between the two hotels because we really liked gambling in the casino at the Mirage too!
