Someone alerted us last week about rates dropping.

Just rebooked at $9.84 per day (compact) for last weekend in July, code 49. Intermediates going for like 12 bucks.

I posted last week that I found out Dollar was dropping, and it seems like it%26#39;s STILL dropping! I just checked again today, a week later, and it went down by another $2 per day, giving me an overall savings of about $10 or so. I secured a Lock Low and go rate of $12 and change for an intermediate or larger. Still, I%26#39;d rather put that $10 into a slot than give it to Dollar! Thanks for your tip! So another tip for everyone, check your dollar reservation, AGAIN!

Hitchhiker, I tried putting %26#39;49%26#39; in the code field and it wasn%26#39;t valid. I%26#39;m still getting a compact for $30/day, picking up and returning at Monte Carlo on July 17th (one day rental). What am I doing wrong?

Flameboy: I tried to use that code too and it wasn%26#39;t valid for me either. The code that I%26#39;m using is RCUD3...that is giving me an intermediate or larger for $12.35 per day plus fees and taxes. Total charges is just under $60 for 3 whole days to and from the airport.

Getting a car from a hotel is going to cost you more money than if you get it at the airport. It is just about always this way. Some codes don%26#39;t even work for a hotel rental.

Flameboy (again)...please ignore my post about the code that I used...it would seem that it is not applicable to one day rentals from a hotel. It is actually cheaper to rent from the airport and it is also cheaper the more days you rent for. Since you%26#39;re only renting for one day, to and from a hotel, it would seem that there is premium for that.

VP03, you%26#39;re right. This particular car that I got for $9 cost $30 at the hotel.

Thanks for the replies. Not to go off topic but what%26#39;s your suggestions for a situation like mine; one day, to and from hotel rental. Is there such a thing as a ';cheap rental';?

Thanks for the information. I had a car booked for July 4-7 for $146.00 I then rebooked for $107.00, Now the same deal is $87.00. Rebooked again.
